Below are two videos, each with a real example of a child diagnosed as having PDA. Both recordings are episodes from the British Channel 4 TV series Born Naughty? (note the question mark), first shown in 2015. Each program features two children displaying different, severe behavior problems and being assessed by professionals. The central question is whether the children’s problems have a medical cause, or whether the solution is improved child-rearing techniques. The children with PDA – a form of autism, which children are born with – are Honey in Episode 1 and Charlie in Episode 4.
Episode 1 shows Honey and Theo. The program weaves back and forth between the two children. If you want to see the whole episode (46 minutes 48 seconds), it’s here. (Note that it may not play in the UK for copyright reasons.)
If you just want to focus on Honey, watch clips 1-5 below.
Episode 4 shows Charlie and Billy. As with Episode 1, the program moves back and forth between the two children. If you want to see the whole episode (46 minutes 52 seconds) it’s here.
If you just want to focus on Charlie, watch clips 6-12 below.
